Summary
Home warranty is not regulated by the Indiana DOI. Confusion may exist because in 2014 the automobile and retail industry asked to be regulated and tried to include language in HB 1206 to include contracts with "tangible personal property." This language addition was defeated which leaves home warranty totally outside the final acts scope. The IDOI issued a Bulletin 210 on June 26, 2014 after changes were made at the request of the NHSCA. Home warranty remains outside the authority and scope of IDOI regulation.
